ABOUT COEEBAA
The College of Education Ekiadolor-Benin Alumni Association was founded on one guiding philosophy: Sharing the Love of Alma Mater. Our alma mater gave us more than certificates; it instilled values, discipline, friendships, and a lifelong commitment to service. The love and opportunities we received at Ekiadolor can never be fully repaid, but they can be shared with others. This philosophy inspires us to honor the lecturers, mentors, and staff who shaped our lives and preserve the proud heritage of COLBEN. Unite graduates across generations, professions, and continents in one strong alumni family. Support our institution and students through mentorship, scholarships, advocacy, and development initiatives.
Historical Chronicle of COEEBAA
The College of Education Ekiadolor-Benin Alumni Association (COEBAA) was established in 2016 through the vision, dedication, and pioneering leadership of Blessing Enabulele Iyare, popularly known as BIE, who served as the Association's inaugural Chairman. From its inception, COEEBAA was founded on the ideals of unity, networking, mutual support, and the promotion of the interests and welfare of alumni of the College of Education, Ekiadolor, Benin City. Under the leadership of Hon. Blessing Enabulele Iyare, the Association laid a solid foundation through structured engagements and active member participation. To foster continuous interaction among members across different locations, the Association instituted monthly online meetings, providing a platform for discussions, planning, and strengthening alumni bonds.
This was complemented by quarterly physical meetings, which enabled members to meet face-to-face, deliberate on matters of common interest, and advance the objectives of the Association. Recognizing the importance of celebrating shared heritage and achievements, COEBAA also introduced an Annual Reunion, which became a flagship event for reconnecting alumni, celebrating accomplishments, and promoting fellowship among members. Following the successful tenure of the founding chairman, leadership of the Association transitioned to Aghama Orobosa, who assumed office as the second Chairman. His administration continued the developmental strides of the Association while sustaining its core programmes and expanding alumni engagement.
A significant milestone in the history of COEEBAA occurred in December 2023, when Rhoda Obayuwana emerged as the third Chairman of the Association. Her emergence marked a new chapter in the Association's growth and development. Under her leadership, COEEBAA has continued to strengthen its organizational structure, promote alumni participation, and pursue initiatives aimed at advancing the welfare of members and supporting the alma mater. Today, COEEBAA stands as a vibrant and growing alumni body, built upon the vision of its founders and sustained by successive leaders and committed members. The Association remains dedicated to fostering lifelong connections among alumni, supporting educational development, and preserving the proud legacy of the College of Education, Ekiadolor-Benin City.
